  • SPRING IS REALLY HERE

0504080829 0503081252 0503081223 Having said that spring has arrived.....so has all the pollen.....sneeeeezzzzze!  I am very slowly working my fiber craft! Life has thrown me a curved ball with a real spin so I am kinda preoccupied with that right now..... life goes on.  Whenever I wanted yarn, I've been phone ordering from Sophies' on 4th St in Center city; the other day I had the opportunity to meet with her in person (Jennifer).  She knew who I was immediately....Jennifer is a very lovely person and I am going to make some time in the future so that I can go and knit with her on Sundays....awesome!  I purchased those yummy yarns there..... Hey, see the silk dupioni and the beautiful lace fabric ....kinda makes a person want to get dressed and go tie the knot!  Gorgeous stuff!  And lastly that Quilting Arts mag is one of my favorites.... I must try one of the projects there....hmmmm, with so much already started, do I dare start another project?  hehehe.......I'll post some pics of stuff in progress and stuff I am finishing...... ROCK ON!

  • spikeyheart P1010043 Open Bag scarf, sock P1010044 Lately life has become extremely interesting.... Let me start with a trip to my daughter's college.  I was really concerned for her as I picked up some anxiety about her meeting her deadlines....and I hope my visit was uplifting and positive.  Sometimes I don't say the right things and just end up making her mental situation worse.  Well, while there, we went to the local book store and as I was standing in the line to pay for my purchase (for a 2nd time), a lady (I use that term very loosely) squeezed into the line between me and the man in front of me.  I asked politely if she was with the gentleman, she answered she was not and that she squeezed into the line close enough to the man that she could have been in his pocket because I got out of the line.   Funny, hahaha, lol..... now get real and get to the back of the line as I merely turned my upper body to say something to my daughter.... my body was rooted to the spot.  Since when is pivoting and speaking to another getting out of the line.  I sort made up my mind to just walk to the next available cashier no matter what anyway..... the woman was loud and boisterous and seemed to want confrontation.  I told her that I am next in line and basically it didn't matter what she said.  Well she shouted that I just go ahead and go next since "you....you... you're an ass"   I looked deep into her eyes and said "Lady, your mother is an arse" using my best British imitation voice..... shocked she was and boy what fun..... she had the look of wait a minute.... she's talking about my mother.....she responded so is my mother and I said you are right and that makes us all about even... except one thing...."I am next in line."    The woman lost it,  she began talking even louder than before causing the cashiers to become involved.  As I paid for my book, she insisited to the manager that I be removed.... manager never heard me talk at all. I talked to just the woman in a very low voice; it was she who was freaking out.... My daughter, well she was very amused....angry at the woman for berating her Mom, but amused by my response or lack there of.  I am a woman of color and she a white woman and I suspect that she really wanted to call me something else and because of the atmosphere that exist right now, perhaps she just didn't wish to go that far..... she went far enough.... I learned that I really should not push or exploit the weaknesses of character in others....just not nice....leave a person room to back away.... even if at the time they don't seem to want to get out!   ROFLMAO anyway! For the rest of my life, I will have to deal with this chronic pain but I am learning to be more active and pursue my passion in life....fabric art..... It moves along very slowly but it does move..... my Carolina Crossroads blocks are finished.....submitted March Madness Miranda and other odds and ends..... made one sock of a pair....eeek ... hope I can get the other made!!! lol.... It's just some of my ramblings.....
